The Journey of Pragati Vijay
Born and raised in the small yet vibrant city of PrayagRaj (formerly Allahabad), Pragati Vijay was exposed to the beauty and makeup industry from an early age, thanks to her mother’s beauty salon in the 1980s. Though initially hesitant about pursuing a career in the beauty industry, Pragati began by assisting her mother at the salon. This early exposure sparked a deep interest, which later blossomed into a lifelong passion.
In 2004, while still in her first year of college, Pragati decided to take a leap and enrolled in a 1-year hairdressing course at Jawed Habib in New Delhi. What began as a way to assist her mother in managing the family business soon turned into a fervent desire to excel in the beauty industry.
As she explored more aspects of makeup artistry, Pragati sought out advanced training. In 2005, she traveled to Mumbai to study makeup under the guidance of Mr. Kishore Thakkar, followed by taking a franchisee of Shehnaz Hussain and completing a Women’s World Wide Diploma Course . By the time she was 21, Pragati had already established her own successful salon, which continues to thrive even after 18 years.
Rising to the Top: Pragati’s Expertise and Accolades
Never one to settle, Pragati continued to fuel her passion for beauty and makeup by learning new techniques and expanding her skill set. In 2009, she became one of the first in Uttar Pradesh to specialize in Airbrush Makeup, after completing a course with international makeup artist Mr. Jos Brands. Her expertise, combined with her dedication to excellence, earned her a certification as an International Makeup Artist.
Today, Pragati’s Makeup Mantra is a trusted name in bridal and professional makeup services. Pragati’s ability to blend artistry with technical knowledge has made her a leader in the beauty industry, and her commitment to only using authentic and branded products ensures that every client experiences the best.
